REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Classes will run from Sept. 16, 2009 to May 12, 2010. Pioneer Valley CBS is pleased to be able to offer classes for Women, for Toddlers (13-23 mos.), for Preschoolers (2-5 years old), for children in Kindergarten through 6th Grade, and a teen class for Junior and Senior High students.
In addition to our well staffed nursery for infants 0-12 months old, we have a mothers' class for those who'd like to keep their infants close.

We're now accepting registrations for women and for children of all ages, newborn - high school. To register or to request more information, please contact our coordinator, Sandy, by email: info@pioneervalleycbs.org. There's a charge to cover the materials cost but scholarships
are available; a lack of finances should never keep someone from participating. Those from all church backgrounds and with all levels of
Bible knowledge (including none) are welcome.
Never been to a Community Bible StudyPlease consider this your invitation!
Our CBS class is attended by women of all ages from various backgrounds who meet at a host church in Agawam for Bible study.
Classes meet for two hours, from 9:30 to 11:30 am, for 30 weeks. We meet on Wednesdays and classes will run September 16, 2009 to May 12, 2010.
We follow the local Agawam school calendar for holidays, vacation days, snow days, and seasonal breaks.

The CBS approach to Bible study allows participants to be exposed to the Word of God in several ways:
Studying a Bible passage at home and answering questions
Sharing in a small Core Group discussion
Listening to a lecture by a trained Teaching Director
Reading a prepared Commentary on the lesson
Seeing the truths of the Bible lived out in the lives of leaders and class members.

Before coming to class, each person is asked to read the Scripture passage for that week and to answer questions related to it.  Home Study Questions
are divided into six groups, encouraging class members to invest time each day (usually 15 to 20 minutes) in study and reflection. On class day, after a
brief opening program, members go to their Core Groups of approximately 15 people, led by a trained Core Leader, to share their answers to the Home
Study Questions. The diversity of the group leads to rich and meaningful discussion. Monthly, the Core Groups enjoy a "potluck" brunch at the church
which offers members an opportunity to know one another on a more personal level; many ladies develop meaningful friendships during the year...

After the Core Group discussion, members gather to hear a lecture of about 30 minutes on the Bible passage by a trained Teaching Director. Members
gain additional insight into the passage as well as personal applications and challenges. Class members then go home with a Commentary on that week's lesson and Home Study Questions for the next week's Bible passage.

In addition to the four essential CBS elements -- home study, core group discussion, lecture, and take-home commentary -- class members also exper- ience biblical truth as it is lived out in a loving, caring community. If you'd like to be part of such a group, please Click Here to request Registration info.

What a wonderful study of Genesis
    we enjoyed together last year!
     What was your favorite part?

All the fruitful time you’ve spent in God’s Word?

  The incredibly rich CBS commentaries?

The sweet fellowship of sharing each week in your core group?

Our delicious monthly brunches? (Who were your good cooks?)

Or enjoying Annie’s (and Paula’s) wonderful lectures?

As Genesis contains stories of the Beginning of the World, for the coming year we’ve decided to dive into the Book of Acts, known
as “the Genesis of the Church”!  After Jesus ascended to heaven He told His followers to wait in Jerusalem to receive power to go into       the world and be His witnesses, power that would come from on high.  And so they did….

WHY SHOULD WE STUDY "ACTS"?
Because...we need God's Spirit to move now as He did then, in our world, in our lives.
Because...we need to "ACT" like they did in ACTS.  Their times and their lives are
instructive to us.
Because...who knows but the time is short?  He could be coming back soon…very soon…

Because...the one thing we cannot do in heaven?!  Is share the gospel, the “good news” of Jesus Christ.
Because...today many people believe all roads lead to God, but the truth is, only one road leads to God as Savior.
